Embraer delivered the first C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft to the Uzbekistan Air Force on 25 September at its facility in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil. The handover makes Uzbekistan the first C-390 operator in Central Asia and comes under a late-2024 contract for two aircraft, alongside training, technical support and spare parts.
The delivery ceremony included Uzbekistan Air Force commander Major General Akhmad Burkhonov and O‘ztextreyd director Olimkhon Rustamov, underscoring official Uzbek participation in the handover. Embraer tied the aircraft to Uzbekistan’s wider air force modernisation and air mobility build-up, rather than treating it as a standalone fleet addition.
The aircraft had already been shown publicly in Uzbek markings earlier in September, indicating the ceremony in Brazil was the final handover step. No details have been disclosed on when the aircraft will arrive in Uzbekistan or when it will enter operational service.
