easyJet cancelled about 100 flights from French airports over the weekend after cabin crew launched a strike over repeated roster and scheduling changes. The disruption hit services at major bases including Paris Orly, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Lyon, Nice, Nantes and Bordeaux during a busy summer travel period.
The action involved France-based cabin crew and several unions, including SNPNC-FO, which have raised concerns over unstable rosters, last-minute changes and demanding rotations. The strike notice runs from 7 August to 2 September, leaving the door open to further disruption if talks do not produce a deal. Further discussions are planned for September.
Passengers on affected services were offered a choice of a free transfer to another flight or a refund. easyJet also moved to cancel most of the disrupted services in advance in an effort to limit the impact on travellers, though the final cancellation tally varied slightly across reports, with figures of around 98 to 100 flights.
