DHL Express has expanded its China logistics footprint with a major upgrade of its Shenzhen Super Gateway and the launch of a dedicated Boeing 767 freighter service linking Shanghai, Bangkok, Bahrain and Brussels. The Shenzhen facility at Bao’an International Airport has been backed by a EUR 177 million investment, lifting processing capacity to about 900 tons a day and adding more than 1,000 jobs in southern China.
The Shenzhen site is DHL’s largest investment on the Chinese mainland to date and is aimed at supporting cross-border trade, e-commerce flows and time-definite express traffic in one of the country’s key manufacturing and export regions. The new freighter service operates daily and adds up to 50 tons of capacity each day across trade lanes connecting China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The additional flight is designed to improve scheduling options for customers and provide more lift for heavier shipments on long-haul corridors. Together, the Shenzhen upgrade and the new air link deepen DHL Express’s operational presence in China while extending network flexibility across several major international markets.
