Boeing’s SPEEA bargaining councils have recommended that members approve the company’s latest four-year contract offer as voting opens this week, in a move aimed at avoiding a strike by engineers and technical employees in the Puget Sound area. The current deals expire on 6 October, and a walkout could start as early as 7 October if members reject the proposal.
The revised package follows the rejection of Boeing’s earlier offer on 21 August and the authorisation of strike action by large margins. It includes a 10% guaranteed wage increase, followed by a 4% rise in March 2027 and annual wage pools of 6% in 2028, 2029 and 2030. The union said the latest terms meet most member priorities and improve on pay and working conditions from the first proposal.
Voting runs from 24 September to 1 October. Boeing and SPEEA are trying to secure ratification before the existing agreements lapse, after months of negotiations over wages, scheduling and other contract terms. A strike would risk disrupting production and complicating Boeing’s financial recovery.
