Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalised an order for up to 150 737 MAX aircraft in New York, with the carrier taking 100 737-8s and options for 50 more. The agreement, reached in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is Turkish Airlines’ largest Boeing single-aisle order.
The deal closes talks that began in 2025 and extends a broader fleet expansion strategy that already included a 2025 commitment for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Boeing also granted Turkish Airlines substitution rights for the 737-10, giving the airline flexibility between MAX variants as it plans short- and medium-haul growth.
Turkish Airlines already operates more than 200 Boeing aircraft across its fleet, including 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliner, 777, 737 Next-Generation and 777 Freighter models. Boeing positions the 737 MAX family as offering 20% lower fuel burn and emissions than the aircraft it replaces, a feature that supports fleet renewal and operating-cost efficiency. Financial terms were not disclosed.
