Boeing has delivered the 200th 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF), with the milestone aircraft entering service in New Zealand for Texel Air Australasia. Named Florence and registered ZK-TXH, the freighter was delivered through BBAM and will support NZ Post and Freightways with charter, specialised freight and regional cargo services.
The delivery ceremony took place at Auckland Airport on 10 October, where the aircraft carried a special livery marking the programme milestone. Florence will connect New Zealand’s main freight hubs with regional destinations and international markets, while providing capacity for urgent-cargo charters and other specialised operations.
The aircraft forms part of an approximately NZ$95 million investment that also includes Karen, another 737-800BCF delivered to Texel Air in August. The two aircraft bring Texel Air Australasia’s fleet to seven 737-800BCFs and increase its New Zealand-based fleet to three.
Since the first 737-800BCF was delivered in 2018, the programme has accumulated more than 482,000 flights and 950,000 flight hours with more than 50 operators worldwide. Boeing reports more than 250 orders and commitments for the type, which it describes as its best-selling narrowbody freighter.
