Biman Bangladesh Airlines orders 11 more Boeing jets to expand fleet

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has ordered 11 additional Boeing aircraft, expanding its planned commitment to 25 jets as the flag carrier moves ahead with fleet renewal and growth. The latest purchase adds five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8s, building on the airline’s earlier order for 14 Boeing aircraft this year.

The agreement was signed in New York during the United Nations General Assembly week. It extends Biman’s narrowbody and widebody pipeline at a time when the state-owned carrier is modernising its long-haul and regional operations. The previous Boeing deal, reached in April, covered 14 aircraft and was valued at about $3.7 billion at list prices.

The latest order was disclosed alongside broader Bangladesh efforts to deepen trade ties with the United States. Full commercial terms for the 11 aircraft, including pricing, financing and delivery timing, were not made public.
