Azorra has acquired an Airbus A330-200 from TrueNoord and placed the wide-body aircraft, MSN 1161, into its portfolio while it remains on lease to Maldivian Airlines. The transaction gives the lessor a new airline customer and operating jurisdiction, and lifts its fleet to 194 owned and managed aircraft, including six wide-bodies.
The deal extends Azorra’s selective push into the wide-body segment after earlier moves involving Airbus A330s and Boeing 777-300ERs in 2023. Financial terms were not disclosed. The aircraft’s existing lease to Maldivian Airlines, the national carrier of the Maldives, means the change in ownership does not alter day-to-day operations for the airline.
Azorra has described its approach as focused on long-term value and demand, pairing portfolio growth with discipline. The transaction also reflects continued liquidity in the leased wide-body market, where aircraft can change hands while remaining in service with active airline operators.
