Auterion and Airlogix begin serial drone production for Ukraine in Germany

Auterion and Ukrainian joint-venture partner Airlogix have started mass production of more than 5,000 long-range drones for Ukraine in the Munich area, with the first units already completed. The German-backed programme covers two drone models, including one with a range of up to 1,500 kilometres, and the order is due for completion by mid-2027.

A second production site is planned in eastern Germany, extending the manufacturing footprint beyond the initial location. Industry insiders put the contract value at around 300 million euros, although that figure is not officially confirmed. The joint venture was formed only in February, underscoring how quickly the production setup has moved from launch to serial output.

The drones are part of German government support for Ukraine and are intended to strengthen Ukraine’s supply of cost-effective precision strike systems. The Munich-area site has not been identified, and the eastern German location has not been disclosed.
