Amazon deepens AWS logistics tie-up with Kühne+Nagel

Amazon and Kühne+Nagel have entered a long-term strategic collaboration covering logistics support for Amazon Web Services infrastructure worldwide, extending their existing relationship into the data-centre lifecycle. The work spans construction, commissioning, equipment deployment, maintenance, modernisation and expansion, while Amazon also receives a call option on existing Kühne+Nagel shares linked to commercial milestones and service delivery over as long as seven years.

The agreement puts Kühne+Nagel deeper into a fast-growing niche at the centre of cloud and artificial-intelligence infrastructure buildouts. It covers global operations and is designed to support Amazon’s continued expansion of AWS facilities, where logistics requirements increasingly extend from transport to highly specialised site support.

Market reaction was positive, with Kühne+Nagel shares rising after the announcement. Business coverage indicated that the relationship could ultimately generate annual volumes in the billions, building on already substantial Amazon-related revenue for the Swiss logistics group.
