Airbus wins 25-year PARACOM cybersecurity contract from French defence ministry

Airbus has won a 25-year PARACOM contract from France’s DGA to supply advanced cybersecurity gateways for the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans’ Affairs. The work, awarded in Paris, covers end-to-end design, development, production and long-term operational maintenance of systems intended to secure data exchanges across networks with different classification levels.

The contract was awarded through Airbus Cybersecurity SAS following a competitive tender. Airbus said the gateways will form a core part of the ministry’s cybersecurity architecture, filtering and securing exchanges between secret and unclassified environments.

The systems are designed for use across military settings, including command posts and platforms such as ships, submarines, aircraft, helicopters, drones and vehicles. The deal extends Airbus’s role in French defence cyber infrastructure and continues a relationship in this type of gateway work that has existed since 2013.
