AirBorneo Airways has signed a four-year maintenance, repair and overhaul agreement with Pratt & Whitney Canada for PW127M engines on its ATR 72-500 turboprop fleet through 2030. The work will be carried out mainly at Pratt & Whitney Canada’s Singapore facility, supporting engine availability and quicker returns to service for the airline’s East Malaysia rural air services network.
The carrier’s ATR 72-500s operate on the Rural Air Services network, which links remote and underserved communities across East Malaysia. The arrangement is intended to ease maintenance cost pressure while improving dispatch reliability for aircraft used on essential public-service routes.
AirBorneo’s engine support will be concentrated at Pratt & Whitney Canada’s expanded Singapore maintenance hub, which serves Asia-Pacific operators. The PW127M is part of the company’s PW100 family, widely used in regional turboprop operations.
