AirAsia launches first codeshare with Pegasus on Istanbul-Europe link

AirAsia has launched its first codeshare partnership with Pegasus Airlines, opening one-stop connections between Southeast Asia and Europe via Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen. The agreement, effective immediately, starts with five European destinations and will see AirAsia X raise Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul service from four weekly flights to daily by February 2027.

The initial codeshare covers London Stansted, Moscow Vnukovo, Ankara, Zurich and Athens, with through-checking of baggage and single-booking itineraries. AirAsia is using its Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul operation as the launch platform while Pegasus feeds traffic into Europe from Istanbul, rather than building its own long-haul European network.

The partners expect the arrangement to expand across more than 100 combined routes over time. Promotional fares run for a limited period for travel through 27 March 2027, underscoring the commercial push behind the new partnership.
