Air China launches Beijing–Keflavík service via Copenhagen

Air China has launched a year-round scheduled service linking Beijing Capital Airport with Keflavík Airport via Copenhagen, establishing the Icelandic airport’s first scheduled connection to mainland China. The three-times-weekly route operates on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays under flight numbers CA807/808, using Airbus A330-300 aircraft capable of carrying both passengers and cargo.

The inaugural flight arrived at Keflavík on 26 October and was welcomed at an airport ceremony attended by aviation and government representatives. The Copenhagen stop makes the service a single Air China routing with an intermediate stop in Denmark rather than a nonstop Beijing–Iceland operation. Keflavík serves the Reykjavík metropolitan area.

The new connection is expected to support tourism, business travel and trade between Iceland and China while adding an Asian destination to Keflavík’s network. Its passenger-and-freight configuration also creates additional air-cargo capacity for Icelandic exporters and importers, including shipments requiring faster transport.

Air China has appointed Kales Iceland to support cargo sales and operational activities in the Icelandic market. The company will work with local freight forwarders, exporters and importers as the route begins regular operations.
