Air Astana will move check-in for domestic flights departing Almaty International Airport to Terminal 1 from 04:00 on 6 November, returning to the terminal after extensive renovation work. International departures will continue to use Terminal 2. The change affects where passengers check in; no change to the airline’s routes or flight schedule has been reported.
Terminal 1’s check-in areas have been modernised, and five automated systems for checking passenger and boarding-pass documents have been installed. The departure area has gained seating, while digital information screens, multilingual signage, children’s play areas and baggage reclaim facilities have also been renewed.
Passengers travelling domestically with Air Astana from Almaty will need to go to Terminal 1 from the changeover time. Those on international flights should continue to use Terminal 2. The airline recommends allowing sufficient time for airport procedures. No estimate has been provided for how the new systems may affect processing times.
