Satair and Vietjet deepen aviation supply chain ties

Vietjet and Satair, an Airbus Services company, exchanged a strategic memorandum of understanding in Copenhagen on 22 October to expand cooperation in aviation supply chains, materials management and aircraft lifecycle solutions. The agreement builds on Satair’s existing Integrated Material Services programme for Vietjet’s Airbus fleet and will examine support for the airline’s fleet expansion, international network and technical infrastructure, including operations at Long Thanh International Airport.

The companies intend to establish a joint working group to develop a cooperation roadmap covering six areas: expanded IMS, materials and logistics support at Long Thanh, aircraft lifecycle and circularity solutions, digital integration and data analytics, aircraft-on-ground response, and training.

Potential measures include improved procurement, inventory planning and regional stock positioning, alongside consignment and emergency logistics support. The partners will also assess the use of used serviceable material, component repair and exchange, surplus-inventory management, predictive demand planning and stronger materials visibility for maintenance operations.

The memorandum was exchanged during the Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum in the presence of Vietnamese General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, Danish King Frederik X and senior officials from both countries. It provides a framework for further evaluation rather than a firm procurement contract; no financial terms, purchase commitments, implementation deadlines or quantities were disclosed.
