Dassault gives its best-selling Falcon 2000 a major cockpit upgrade

Dassault Aviation will introduce its fourth-generation EASy IV flight deck on new Falcon 2000LXS business jets and offer the upgrade as a retrofit for eligible Falcon 2000-series aircraft. Unveiled at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas, the programme is designed to modernise the 4,000-nautical-mile, short-field jet while allowing operators to retain their existing fleets.

Developed with Honeywell Aerospace, EASy IV builds on the Primus Epic-based avionics platform used by the Falcon 2000 family’s current EASy system. The upgrade brings faster processing, improved cockpit displays, two- and three-dimensional airport moving maps, enhanced Jeppesen chart functions and a next-generation flight-management system supporting RNP approaches.

The system can also be paired with Dassault’s FalconEye combined vision system to improve pilot awareness during low-visibility approaches. The modernisation is intended to support future regulatory requirements and align the Falcon 2000 more closely with the EASy IV-equipped Falcon 6X and Falcon 8X.

Retrofit availability will be limited to Falcon 2000 aircraft already fitted with EASy avionics; earlier jets equipped with Collins systems are excluded. Aviation Week reported that the retrofit programme is planned for 2029, although Dassault has not disclosed a certification schedule, pricing or installation timetable.
