Five FAI Skydiving World Championships to Open in Arizona

Five Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) world championships will begin on 18 October at Skydive Arizona in Eloy, bringing athletes from 29 countries together for a seven-day programme covering five skydiving disciplines. The combined event includes Artistic Events, Canopy Piloting, Canopy Piloting Freestyle, Formation Skydiving and Speed Skydiving, with competition scheduled through 24 October.

The programme brings several FAI titles to one venue, including the 27th Formation Skydiving, 16th Artistic Events, sixth Speed Skydiving, 11th Canopy Piloting and fifth Canopy Piloting Freestyle world championships. Events will determine individual and team champions across disciplines and may establish records in Formation Skydiving, Speed Skydiving and Canopy Piloting.

The United States is expected to be prominent on home ground. Curt Bartholomew is among the leading contenders in Canopy Piloting as he seeks to retain his title, while US teams arrive after winning all four Formation Skydiving world titles contested in 2024. The event’s scale reflects the international reach of competitive skydiving, concentrating five FAI championship programmes at the Arizona drop zone within a single week.
