Atlantic Airways Orders Two Airbus A320neos to Complete Fleet Renewal

Atlantic Airways has placed a firm order with Airbus for two additional A320neo aircraft, advancing the Faroe Islands’ national carrier towards an all-A320neo fleet. The order will support continued fleet renewal, operational efficiency and simplified maintenance as the airline replaces its remaining older-generation A320ceo aircraft. Atlantic Airways currently operates four A320-family aircraft, comprising two A320ceos and two A320neos.

The new aircraft will join the airline’s future A320neo fleet, which is expected to comprise four aircraft on order. Aviation-media reports indicate that deliveries are anticipated in the early 2030s, although Airbus and Atlantic Airways have not disclosed precise delivery dates, the transaction value or the engine selection.

Fleet commonality is expected to generate operational synergies and streamline maintenance. The investment also supports Atlantic Airways’ role in maintaining regional connectivity for communities across the Faroe Islands.

The airline’s transition will eventually remove the two A320ceo aircraft from its current fleet, but the timing of those retirements has not been specified. Atlantic Airways’ stated objective is to operate exclusively A320neo aircraft in the near future.
