Bridgepoint, GFH Bank and AIP Capital have formed a strategic partnership to build a commercial aircraft-engine portfolio valued at more than US$1 billion. Based in London and Manama, the platform will acquire and lease current- and next-generation engines to airlines, maintenance, repair and overhaul providers and other aviation operators, addressing demand for spare powerplants amid aircraft delivery backlogs and longer maintenance turnaround times.
The partnership expands the relationship between Bridgepoint and AIP Capital, which began in 2024 with the acquisition of a portfolio of CFM International LEAP-1B engines. In July 2026, the partners agreed to purchase a further 11 LEAP-1B engines directly from CFM International.
GFH joins as a strategic partner and cornerstone investor, representing the Bahrain-based institution’s entry into aviation investment. Bridgepoint funds will also commit capital, while the partners plan to raise additional funds from institutional and private-wealth investors as the platform expands.
Acquisitions will include direct manufacturer purchases, airline sale-and-leaseback transactions, secondary-market deals and finance leases. AIP Capital will lead sourcing, asset management and trading, supported by its in-house technical, legal and servicing capabilities. The partners have not disclosed their individual capital commitments, the platform’s legal structure, its initial portfolio size or a timetable for reaching the US$1 billion target.
