Rolls-Royce to invest £300m in UK manufacturing sites

Rolls-Royce will invest £300 million in its UK manufacturing and engineering network, with spending targeted at sites in Derby, Bristol, Inchinnan near Glasgow, Rotherham and Ansty in Warwickshire. The programme is designed to expand capacity, upgrade facilities and support future work across the company’s civil aerospace and defence businesses.

The largest allocation is more than £140 million for Derby, where new engineering and manufacturing services facilities are due for completion in 2028. Bristol will receive more than £90 million for a major site upgrade, with work scheduled to finish in 2031. The site employs more than 3,500 people.

At Inchinnan, Rolls-Royce is investing £43 million in machinery for new engine components. Rotherham will receive £19 million for its Advanced Blade Casting Facility, alongside an additional £2 million from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, with output of advanced turbine blades expected to double by 2030. Ansty will get £5 million for machinery upgrades to improve manufacturing capability and efficiency.

The investment lifts Rolls-Royce’s UK spending to more than £3 billion since 2023, while the company spent more than £2.8 billion with UK suppliers in 2025.
