Nor’easter disrupts more than 400 flights across US Northeast

A strong nor’easter sweeping the US East Coast forced airlines to cancel more than 400 flights and delay thousands more across the Northeast, with Boston Logan among the hardest hit. The storm disrupted operations from Washington to Maine, as carriers moved to protect schedules and passengers faced widespread rebooking across major hubs including Boston, New York and Philadelphia.

Flight tracking data showed 445 cancellations involving US airports and 3,016 delays by late Saturday. Boston Logan accounted for about 253 cancellations, making it the single biggest airport impact in the region. Cape Air and Delta were among the carriers most affected at Boston, while Cape Air cancelled all flights in its North Region because of the weather.

Airlines including Delta, JetBlue, United and American activated weather waivers to let passengers change travel plans without standard penalties. The storm also brought power outages and flooding concerns across the Northeast, adding further strain to travel through the busy corridor linking the mid-Atlantic and New England.
