Bangkok airports stay open as flooding prompts Thai Airways ticket waiver

Thai Airways has waived one ticket change fee for passengers affected by flooding in Bangkok and surrounding areas, while Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports remain open despite road disruption and some flight delays. The measure applies to Bangkok departures between 26 and 29 September, with the revised trip required to be completed by 29 September.

The carrier’s flexible booking offer covers the same route and fare class, and passengers whose flights are cancelled may seek a refund. Travellers have been told to allow extra time to reach the airport and check flight status before leaving.

Thailand’s transport ministry has kept both airports operating, even as heavy rain pushed water onto part of a taxiway at Don Mueang and flooding affected access roads in areas including Lat Krabang. Authorities have advised passengers to monitor traffic conditions closely, particularly on routes into Suvarnabhumi, where main access roads remain open but congestion has intensified. Other airlines serving Bangkok have also introduced rebooking help as the storm disruption continues.
