Telespazio Ibérica has signed two contracts with Portuguese companies CEiiA and N3O, advancing a future federation between the Canary Islands and Atlantic satellite constellations. The agreements, unveiled in Vigo during the New Space España conference, connect Earth-observation imaging with ground infrastructure for satellite operations across Spain and Portugal.
Under the CEiiA contract, imagery will feed the Atlantic Data Hub, with resolution reportedly reaching up to 30 cm per pixel, supporting development of the Atlantic constellation. The N3O deal covers key ground-segment elements for the future Canary Islands constellation, including systems to control satellites, plan image acquisitions and manage data.
The contracts build on wider Iberian cooperation in the New Space sector and point to more coordinated operations between the two programmes. Telespazio Ibérica, part of Leonardo Space, has positioned the work as a shared capability framework rather than two isolated projects, with both constellations expected to benefit from common operational links and data handling resources.
