Finnair to offer up to three daily Helsinki–Tokyo flights in summer 2027

Finnair will raise its Helsinki-Tokyo capacity to as many as three daily flights at peak in summer 2027 by adding Tokyo Narita service while maintaining daily Tokyo Haneda operations. The expansion will lift the carrier’s Japan schedule to up to 32 weekly flights, from 28 in summer 2026, with Narita initially rising from seven weekly services before increasing further later in the season.

The additional Narita operation is planned to run from 12 May to 14 August 2027, with a brief schedule exception around the first rotation. Finnair is positioning the extra daytime Narita departure alongside its existing overnight service, giving travellers more choice on timing between Japan and Helsinki.

The route growth comes as the airline continues to lean on strong demand for Japan travel and to use Helsinki as a connecting point for Europe-bound passengers. During the summer peak, the Tokyo schedule is set to become Finnair’s strongest in its network for the season, with daily Haneda flights complemented by up to two daily services to Narita.
