Boeing and Turkish Airlines finalise up to 150 737 MAX order

Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalised an order for up to 150 737 MAX aircraft in New York, with the deal signed during the UN General Assembly period in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The agreement covers 100 firm 737-8 jets and options for 50 more 737 MAX aircraft, with substitution rights for the 737-10, making it Turkish Airlines’ largest single-aisle Boeing order to date.

The carrier had been in talks with Boeing since 2025, and the final signature resolves a long-running narrowbody negotiation that had been held up by engine-related issues. Boeing linked the order to Turkish Airlines’ short- and medium-haul network expansion and its broader long-term growth strategy.

The deal follows a separate widebody purchase announced by Turkish Airlines earlier in the year and further deepens its relationship with Boeing as the airline continues to refresh and expand its fleet. The flexibility to switch part of the order to the 737-10 gives the carrier room to adjust capacity as passenger demand develops across its network.
