Biman orders 11 more Boeing jets in fleet expansion push

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has ordered 11 more Boeing aircraft, adding five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8s to its fleet plan. The deal, concluded in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, lifts the carrier’s planned Boeing purchases to 25 jets and extends its long-term renewal programme after an earlier order placed in April.

The latest agreement comes on top of Biman’s previous commitment for 14 Boeing aircraft, which was valued at about $3.7 billion. That earlier package covers 787-10s, 787-9s and 737-8s, with deliveries expected between 2031 and 2035.

The new order gives Biman additional widebody and narrowbody capacity while increasing commonality across its Boeing fleet. Publicly disclosed details on pricing, financing and delivery timing for the extra 11 aircraft were not available at the time of reporting.
