SR Technics has begun maintenance on selected CFM56 engines operated by Garuda Indonesia at its engine shop in Zurich. The work adds a new MRO assignment for the Indonesian carrier and supports fleet readiness and operational reliability, while no engine count, value or exact CFM56 variant has been disclosed.
The agreement extends SR Technics’ commercial activity in engine maintenance and strengthens its workload in Zurich, where the company performs CFM56 support. For Garuda Indonesia, the contract provides additional maintenance capacity for aircraft powered by the widely used CFM56 family, an engine type that remains central to many short- and medium-haul fleets.
The deal also fits SR Technics’ broader focus on engine services for airline customers in Europe and Asia. Details on the scope of the assignment remain limited, with the reports not identifying how many engines are covered or when the maintenance cycle will conclude.
