Airbus has secured a 25-year PARACOM cybersecurity contract from France’s Directorate General for Armament through its Airbus Cybersecurity SAS subsidiary. The deal covers cybersecurity gateways for the French Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs, spanning the study phase, prototype development, production and long-term operational maintenance.
The gateways are designed to secure and filter data exchanges between networks and information systems with different sensitivity levels, including classified information. Reuters-distributed coverage said the systems can be deployed in data centres and command posts, as well as aboard ships, submarines, aircraft, helicopters, drones, armoured vehicles and other military vehicles. Airbus has supplied similar gateways to the French army since 2013, extending an established defence cyber line of business.
