Korean Air will gradually retire Asiana flight numbers and rebook existing Asiana reservations under KE codes in a phased migration running from 2 November to 3 December, ahead of the combined carrier’s launch on 17 December. The change applies to Asiana ticket holders as Korean Air integrates booking and reservation systems for the merger, with passengers due to receive individual notifications by SMS, messaging apps and email.
Bookings for travel departing on or after 17 December will be reassigned from OZ to KE before departure, while Korean Air will publish guidance in its app and online FAQ pages. The staged approach is designed to limit technical disruption and reduce confusion during one of the most sensitive operational phases of the integration.
The timetable forms part of the wider Korean Air–Asiana combination that culminates in the launch of the merged airline on 17 December. Asiana’s flight code and reservation identity are being folded into Korean Air’s network structure as the carrier prepares to operate under a single brand.
