TAB Cargo resumes scheduled operations with DC-10-30F after months on the ground

TAB Cargo has resumed scheduled flight operations after being grounded since November 2025, returning to service with a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30F freighter based at Santa Cruz/Viru Viru. The state-owned Bolivian cargo airline restarted flights on 5 September as part of a restructuring drive and amid Bolivia’s shift towards an open-skies policy, restoring long-haul freight capacity from the country’s main international cargo gateway.

The DC-10-30F remains TAB Cargo’s long-haul workhorse and is capable of carrying up to 70 tonnes of freight. The airline’s network is expected to centre on Miami as a key connection, supporting international cargo flows from Bolivia.

TAB Cargo focuses on bulky cargo, technology, medical equipment and perishables, making its return relevant for shippers that rely on dedicated lift for time-sensitive and specialised freight. The restart also restores a state-operated option in a market where long-haul air cargo links can be limited, particularly for import and export flows through Viru Viru.
