K&R automates EU cargo security filings with Descartes

K&R International Services is using Descartes’ global security filing solution to automate European Union Import Control System 2 submissions for charter cargo carriers handling high volumes of individual e-commerce parcels. The move centres on EU cargo-security compliance and aims to reduce manual processing for airfreight flows where filing speed and data consistency are critical.

The solution standardises high-volume e-commerce air shipment data and automates hundreds of thousands of regulatory submissions each month. That capability supports K&R’s work with charter operators transporting large numbers of parcel shipments, where tight security windows make manual entry inefficient.

ICS2 requires advance security data for cargo entering the EU, and the adoption of automated filing tools reflects the pressure on logistics providers to manage growing parcel volumes while maintaining compliance. K&R is based in Michigan, while Descartes provides the filing system through its global logistics network for customs responses and exception handling.
