EDGE and Safran sign defence MoU in Brazil

EDGE Group and Safran Electronics & Defence have signed a memorandum of understanding in Brazil to expand cooperation through SIATT, EDGE’s Brazilian missile-focused unit. The agreement covers missile systems, loitering munitions, coastal defence and related technologies, with a plan to develop and produce solid-propellant rocket motor capability at SIATT facilities in Brazil.

The two companies also intend to examine collaboration in inertial measurement and navigation, GNSS receivers, actuators, electro-optical sights and seekers. The deal extends EDGE’s defence-industrial presence in Brazil and points to a deeper local role in propulsion and guided-weapons work. Reports tied the announcement to Brazil, with references to Abu Dhabi and São José dos Campos in separate coverage, but the operational focus remains on Brazilian industrial capability and technology transfer.
