Braathen injects another SEK 100 million into BRA

Swedish aviation entrepreneur Per G. Braathen is injecting another SEK 100 million, or about €9.2 million, into Braathens Regional Airlines as the carrier pushes through its third restructuring in five years. The fresh capital is intended to stabilise Braathens Regional Airlines, known as BRA, while the company continues to seek a sustainable return to profitability in the Nordic market.

The move comes as Braathen describes the latest funding round as a last chance for the airline to become permanently profitable. BRA has already undergone repeated restructuring efforts, and the new injection gives management additional time to attempt a turnaround without changing the airline’s core network or fleet plans.

If the current effort fails, Braathen sees no further path to continue operating the airline under present conditions. The case underlines how difficult regional airline economics remain, particularly for carriers that have had to restructure multiple times in a short period.
