Southern Vision Investment has taken a strategic stake in AVi8 Airways, the Vietnamese startup building toward commercial operations in 2027. The investment is intended to support the carrier’s certification work and longer-term development as it progresses through regulatory approval and prepares for initial fleet acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed.
AVi8 remains in an early stage of buildout, with certification and operational readiness now central to its next phase. The new backing gives the airline additional capital at a point when startup carriers typically face heavy spending on regulatory compliance, organisation, aircraft planning and launch preparation. The move also signals continued investor interest in Southeast Asian airline ventures despite the long lead time before revenue flights begin.
