flynas has agreed to acquire a 10% stake in Swissport Saudi Arabia Limited for SAR 50 million, with an option to double that holding later, while also making Swissport its exclusive ground-handling partner across the airline’s Saudi network. The operational handover is due to begin on 6 March 2027, after flynas ends its current arrangement with Saudi Ground Services.
The five-year ground-handling contract runs until 5 March 2032 and may be renewed for another five years by mutual agreement. Closing remains subject to customary conditions and approvals from the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the General Authority for Competition. The investment will be funded from flynas’s internal resources.
Swissport Saudi Arabia provides passenger handling, ground management and supervision, surface transportation, cargo and baggage handling, and related services. The tie-up is positioned as a long-term strategic partnership in Saudi Arabia and comes as the Kingdom continues to expand its aviation sector under Vision 2030. Swissport’s share of the Saudi ground-handling market is expected to rise to around 40% once the new arrangement takes effect.
