Two ex-Lufthansa Boeing 737-500s up for auction in Europe

Azitis has put two former Lufthansa Boeing 737-500 aircraft up for auction with a starting price of 238,000 euros each. The separate sale covers one jet in Bacău, Romania, and another in Forlì, Italy, with bidders required to place a 250,000 lei security deposit before participating. The auction closes on 8 September at 17:00.

Both aircraft have reportedly been parked at their airports since 2022 without maintenance or engine storage, leaving their airworthiness certificates expired. The aircraft previously flew for Lufthansa from 1991 to 2015 as D-ABIS and D-ABIR before entering service as YR-AMA and YR-AME.

The aircraft in Italy carries additional parking charges, with the accumulated bill reported at about 50,000 euros by February. The listing gives buyers two airframes with long airline histories but significant reactivation costs and no current operating status.
