Nayak Aircraft Services takes controlling stake in Portugal’s LAS Group

Nayak Aircraft Services has taken a controlling stake in Portugal’s LAS Group, expanding its maintenance presence in Southern Europe and bringing LAS Maintenance, LAS Training and SLOT-Human Resources into its network. João Louro remains a shareholder and will continue as chief executive of LAS Maintenance, preserving the existing operating structure as ownership changes hands.

The transaction fits Nayak’s broader European expansion strategy and adds another base to its continent-wide MRO platform. Keeping Louro in place points to operational continuity for customers while the business integrates into Nayak’s portfolio.

LAS Group’s activities span maintenance, training and human resources support, giving Nayak a wider service footprint in a market where consolidation has been steady across the aviation maintenance sector. The move also strengthens the group’s reach in Portugal and the wider Iberian region, where demand for outsourced maintenance capacity remains an important commercial driver.
