ANA expands Embraer E190-E2 order to 23 jets with eight-aircraft commitment

ANA Holdings has expanded its Embraer E190-E2 commitment by eight aircraft, lifting total firm orders for the type to 23 jets. The agreement formalises a decision first disclosed on 29 July 2026 and leaves ANA HD with five remaining options for additional E190-E2s, with first delivery expected in 2028.

The new order builds on ANA HD’s original 2025 contract for 15 firm E190-E2s and extends the Japanese group’s push into regional aircraft for domestic and short-haul flying. ANA currently operates no Embraer aircraft, but the E190-E2 has become part of its fleet renewal and network development strategy as it looks to match capacity more closely to demand.

Embraer gains another firm win in Asia from a major carrier group, while ANA deepens its reliance on fuel-efficient regional jets for its domestic operation. The additional aircraft are expected to support capacity growth on routes where smaller gauge aircraft can offer more flexibility than larger narrowbodies.
