Brussels Airlines faces strike notice over Tel Aviv crew rostering

Brussels Airlines is facing a strike notice from ACV Puls after shifting Tel Aviv flights back onto regular crew rosters instead of using volunteers only. The dispute centres on the carrier’s Israel service, where the union says earlier arrangements were meant to keep the route limited to volunteer staff, raising fresh labour and safety concerns on a route already affected by security sensitivities.

The notice came into effect on 1 September and covers only flights to and from Tel Aviv, leaving the rest of the Brussels Airlines network outside the threatened action. Brussels Airlines resumed Tel Aviv operations during the summer after a pause and has continued to monitor the security situation closely, while ACV Puls argues the carrier is departing from the earlier volunteer-only setup.

The conflict highlights the operational challenges of assigning cabin and flight crews to destinations exposed to geopolitical risk. The Belgian Foreign Ministry continues to advise against non-essential travel to Israel and Jerusalem, adding to pressure on airlines operating the route. Brussels Airlines remains part of Lufthansa Group, where crew assignment procedures can change as conditions evolve.
