1975 Avenue & Hotel in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, has opened two retired Boeing 747s as luxury accommodation, turning former Pan Am and Japan Airlines aircraft into 18 cockpit suites inside an aviation-themed resort. The Kempas property, developed by Tiong Nam Group, also includes 20 standard rooms in an adjacent building, giving the complex 38 rooms in total.
The two aircraft, named Bove and Bey, were decommissioned, sold and moved to the site in 2019 before being integrated into the wider lifestyle development. Each jet contains nine suites, with themed interiors and layouts spread across two levels. The resort is positioned about 20 minutes from Johor Bahru city centre and Senai International Airport.
The project adds pools, a beach area, a spa, sauna, gym, restaurants and event space to the aviation concept. It is a rare commercial reuse of widebody airliners, shifting two iconic long-haul jets from passenger service into a tourism-led hospitality attraction.
