Brussels Airlines is facing a strike threat from Belgian union ACV Puls after moving Tel Aviv services back onto its normal crew roster instead of relying only on volunteers. The dispute centres on flights between Brussels and Tel Aviv, with the union saying any industrial action would be confined to those services.
ACV Puls filed a strike notice effective 1 September after accusing the carrier of breaking an earlier understanding on volunteer-only staffing for the route. Brussels Airlines resumed Tel Aviv flights this summer and initially operated them with volunteers, but now considers the restart sufficiently stable to return to standard rostering.
The union cites safety, psychological and ethical concerns, and points to Belgium’s travel advice warning against non-essential travel to Israel and Jerusalem. Brussels Airlines keeps safety as its top priority and is monitoring conditions with other Lufthansa Group carriers. One Brussels-Tel Aviv flight departed on schedule on 2 September despite the protest, indicating that the dispute has begun without triggering wider cancellations so far.
