The increase points to greater reliance on remote doctor support and security guidance for crews operating in higher-risk environments. MedAire’s doctors also help aircrew manage in-flight emergencies from the ground, a service that remains central to the company’s aviation offering.
The trend is relevant for flight departments weighing duty-of-care planning, route selection and contingency support. It also suggests that operators are using third-party medical and security assistance more frequently rather than relying solely on internal procedures, especially when flying into regions where threat levels or medical exposure may be elevated.
