Vertical Aerospace secures about $100 million for Valo eVTOL programme

Vertical Aerospace has secured financing commitments of about $100 million to support certification and commercialisation of its Valo aircraft programme. The package combines $40 million from Mudrick Capital, $35 million in equity and $25 million from Yorkville Advisors, with closing expected around 11 August.

The London-based eVTOL developer plans to use the funding for Critical Design Review, certification-conforming aircraft builds and testing, manufacturing readiness and hybrid-electric development. Vertical described the financing as support for a capital-intensive certification path and a move that will strengthen its financial resilience as it advances the Valo platform.

Mudrick Capital, which Vertical identified as its largest shareholder, is among the existing backers participating in the transaction. The structure mixes debt, equity and preferred-equity elements rather than a single equity round, underlining the company’s effort to secure funding across multiple sources while it works toward regulatory milestones.
