Günther is pushing for a clearer legal basis for domestic military support and is also pressing for a constitutional change to make such deployments legally cleaner. The discussion centres on Germany’s broader drone defence framework, where responsibilities remain split between police and military authorities.
The proposal adds to growing concern over hybrid threats to critical infrastructure, including airports, and reflects mounting political urgency after repeated drone incidents in Germany.
