Bamboo Airways halts domestic ticket sales as fleet shrinks to three aircraft

Bamboo Airways has stopped selling domestic scheduled tickets from 1 August, with its booking system showing no available flights on major Vietnamese routes including Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi and Hanoi-Da Nang. The carrier has also apologised to affected passengers and begun refund processing as its operating fleet has fallen to three aircraft.

The disappearance of open inventory on core trunk routes points to a sharp contraction in the airline’s scheduled network, even as limited charter flying may continue. Vietnamese aviation coverage has linked the latest disruption to a prolonged restructuring process, repeated cancellations and delays, and a fleet reduction that has left the carrier far smaller than at its pre-restructuring peak.

Refund handling varies by booking channel. Tickets bought directly through Bamboo Airways’ website, app or ticket offices can be returned as eVouchers within 7 to 14 business days, while cash refund requests submitted by email may take up to 90 business days after complete documents are received. Passengers who booked through agents are being directed back to the original point of sale.
