Eve Air Mobility has completed the first partial transition flight of its engineering prototype, activating the rear pusher propulsion system in the air for the first time during testing at Embraer’s facility in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo state. The run lasted 3 minutes and 9 seconds and saw the aircraft reach a stabilised 27 knots, a maximum ground speed of 30 knots and about 90 feet above ground level.
The test opened the transition phase from vertical lift to wing-borne forward flight on Eve’s eVTOL programme, a step regarded as one of the most demanding in development because it validates the lift-and-pusher configuration in flight. Eve’s chief executive Johann Bordais and engineering head Marcelo Basile both framed the sortie as part of the aircraft’s planned envelope expansion toward higher speeds and more complex manoeuvres.
The programme had already cleared its hover and low-speed flight block, and transition testing had been expected to begin in the northern summer. During the sortie, the pusher propeller reached 1,200 rpm, with data from the flight feeding into the next phase of testing as Eve works toward more advanced transition profiles. The company’s first full-scale prototype flight was disclosed in December 2025.
