General Dynamics lifted its full-year profit forecast after a stronger-than-expected second quarter, helped by higher Gulfstream business jet deliveries and stronger service revenue at Gulfstream and Jet Aviation. The aerospace unit delivered 41 aircraft in the quarter, up from 38 a year earlier, as demand and deliveries improved across the segment.
For the first half of 2026, Gulfstream delivered 79 aircraft, compared with 74 in the same period a year earlier. Aerospace revenue rose 15.1% year on year to about $3.5 billion in the quarter, while operating earnings reached $510 million, giving the division a 14.5% operating margin.
The group now expects about 160 Gulfstream deliveries in 2026, with Aerospace revenue of around $13.8 billion and an operating margin of 14.7%. General Dynamics also pointed to higher-than-planned deliveries and continued strength in aerospace demand, while backlog across the company remained at a record level.
