Israel Aerospace Industries has unveiled Ellyon, a new EW/ISTAR multi-mission aircraft concept built around a heavily modified Bombardier Global 6500. The announcement, dated 2026-07-20, presents the aircraft as a single airborne system combining electronic attack with intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance functions.
IAI says Ellyon integrates an AI-based mission-management system, broadband stand-off jamming, multimode AESA radar functions, COMINT/ELINT, electro-optical and infrared sensing, and line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight communications. The platform is designed to fuse sensor data in real time and transmit it through satellite and data links to friendly forces.
The concept is positioned as a response to demand for a unified airborne mission system capable of handling electronic attack, SIGINT and ISTAR roles from one aircraft rather than several specialist platforms. Public reporting describes the Global 6500 as the carrier platform shown in IAI visuals, reflecting continued interest in long-range business jets for defence conversion and special-mission use.
The announcement is a platform reveal rather than an order, delivery or certification event. Public reports do not confirm a customer, contract value or production timetable.
