Bombardier said on July 30, 2026 that its order backlog rose to $21.8 billion at the end of the second quarter, up $4.3 billion from year-end 2025, as demand for its Challenger and Global business jets continued to outpace deliveries. The company reported a book-to-bill ratio of 1.5x for the quarter and delivered 32 business jets, down from 36 a year earlier, citing isolated supply-chain issues.
The backlog increased from $17.5 billion at the end of 2025 to $21.8 billion at June 30, 2026. Bombardier said the higher backlog reflected strong demand in its premium business jet segment and that orders continued to exceed aircraft deliveries during the first half of the year.
Management said deliveries are expected to rise in the second half of 2026, while the company maintained its full-year target of delivering more than 157 aircraft. Bombardier also highlighted strong free cash flow and strong services performance in its second-quarter results, adding further weight to the backlog increase for investors and the business aviation market.
